Vomano valley
A series of hills arranged like a comb and furrowed by watercourses flowing towards the sea, almost parallel to each other. Two geographical components enclosed in a short space: to the east the Adriatic Sea, and to the west the Gran Sasso d'Italia Massif. City of Potenza
On the northern side of the upper Basento valley, with its typically mountainous climatic environment, the municipality of Potenza extends parallel to the course of the river in a picturesque location. The oldest part of the town, perched on a rocky spur, resembles an old village and towers above modern residential and industrial districts in the valley bottom. There are many historical and artistic beauties scattered around the town, which are worth visiting at a leisurely pace.

City of Matera

Taro and Ceno Valleys

Val Trebbia
Defined by Hemingway as 'the most beautiful valley in the world', the Val Trebbia is formed by the river of the same name that wedges into deep gorges forming loops alternating with frequent small lakes, giving the surrounding landscape, rich in green pastures and rocky woods, a wild and enchanting aspect at the same time.

Tuscia
Tuscia, an area inhabited by the Etruscans, formerly known as the Tusci, stretches beautifully across upper Lazio. It is an area rich in history and one of the most evocative in the entire region of Central Italy. Lunigiana
The 'Golfo dei Poeti', that portion of the territory stretching from Lerici to Portovenere, two splendid seaside villages on the Ligurian Riviera di Levante, was named after artists and poets who loved it, spending periods of residence in the gulf, dazzled by the beauty of this 'water amphitheater', dotted with sandy beaches and pastel-coloured houses, churches and medieval castles by the sea.

Plain of Florence, Prato and Pistoia

Nurra Sassarese
